This is the first devotional that I have collaborated on with my friend, Asa. She is talented at drawing. I’m so glad that we can serve the Lord together. She is such an important friend to me since we are always honest with each other.
Before I became a Christian (and maybe even for a while afterwards), I tended to reject people. If I argued with someone or if that person spoke badly to me, I would block him or her without telling them that I was hurt.
However, Asa made me realize that this should not be how things are supposed to be. She taught me how we can love people with patience and generosity. I am truly thankful for her and for God.
Another change I’ve noticed after I became a Christian is that I stopped crying alone. Instead, I started smiling around my friends and began caring about the people around me, though before, I’d only thought of myself. Before trusting Jesus, I think I was in a bad cycle where both others and I were hurt by my actions. God encouraged me and changed me with great patience.
I believe God is changing churches and societies too; God’s grace transforms everything for the better. This promise from God gives us relief.
I want to keep reminding myself that we have received new life because Jesus died for us — and I’m excited about upcoming new devotionals! I’m sure God will bless them!
