      Enduring temptation

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
      James 1:12 NKJV

We say that our faith life is like running a race. We try to spend time with God every day, supporting one another so that we can win this race.

God bless us so much during the race, but there is also Satan’s temptation.

Temptation comes in many ways. For example, we sometimes think of something else while praying together, or we sometimes fall into bad habits. I also fall into temptation, though I really don’t want to. When I read the Bible, I feel like checking my phone or comparing myself with others and feeling miserable.

So how can we overcome temptation? I wonder if we can keep trusting God even when He doesn’t seem to listen to our prayers and when bad and huge things happen to us.

Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly how to endure such temptations, but I know that no one wants to betray God. Even if we make mistakes many times, as long as we repent, I’m sure God will give us the power to control ourselves.

God will give us the crown of life when we see Jesus in heaven. That promise might not be visible now; however, no matter what happens, I want all of us hold on tightly to the Lord with pure hearts.
